PROGRAMME OVERVIEW

The Operation Theater Technologist possesses comprehensive knowledge of ethical concerns, operation theatre setup, and proficient handling of surgical equipment. They offer valuable assistance to surgeons, specialists, anesthesiologists, and nurses. The main role of these technologists is to support doctors during surgeries, manage surgical instruments, sterilise them before and after procedures, follow surgeons' instructions during critical situations, and handle anaesthesia equipment. They are also well-versed in maintaining the sterility of the operation theatre. Operation Theater Technologists are indispensable in all types of hospitals that perform surgeries like General Surgery, Plastic Surgery, Neurosurgery, etc. They play a vital role in ensuring the smooth functioning of ICUs, CCUs, and OTs in medical facilities. The demand for skilled and trained professionals in the healthcare sector has significantly increased.
NOTE: Student will have an option to exit at the end of 6th semester(3yrs) to obtain a degree in Bachelor of Science (Honours) Operation Theater Technology (Lateral)
