Padma Shri (Dr.) Nirupam Bajpai visited Kaziranga University on 28th March 2017

On the 28th of March 2017, Kaziranga University was honoured to have welcomed Padma Shri (Dr.) Nirupam Bajpai for an enlightening interactive session with the faculty and students.

Dr. Nirupam Bajpai is an Indian educationist and economist, who has the distinction of being the youngest Padma Shri awardee. He is the Senior Development Advisor, Center for Sustainable Development at Columbia University, and is the Founding Director of the Columbia Global Centers, South Asia. Dr. Bajpai has also had the high honour and privilege of continuously advising three Prime Ministers of India, Honorable Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Honorable Manmohan Singh and currently, Honorable Narendra Modi. He has also advised several cabinet ministers of the NDA and UPA governments, including the Ministers of Health and Family Welfare, Finance, Commerce and Industry, and Information Technology among others.

Dr. Bajpai delivered a talk on the topic ‘Globalization, Higher Education and Entrepreneurship’, highlighting the importance of higher education keeping in mind the present wave of globalization and the subsequent need for sustainable development. The session was much appreciated by the faculty and students of Kaziranga University, whose numerous questions reflected their interest and inquisitive minds.
