National Seminar on New Paradigms Of Commerce And Management: Opportunities And Challenges Organized by Kaziranga University

A National Seminar on the theme ‘New Paradigms of Commerce and Management: Opportunities and Challenges’, was organized by the School of Business of the Assam Kaziranga University on 5th and 6th April, 2019.

The inaugural session of the Seminar was held on 5th April 2019, in which the Inaugural Address was delivered by Vice Chancellor of the Assam Kaziranga University, Dr. P. K. Mishra and the keynote address was delivered by Professor (Retd.), Post Graduate Department of Commerce, Utkal University, Bhubaneswar Prof. (Dr.) Ranjan Kumar Bal. Other distinguished guests and dignitaries present were Professor of Accounting, Xavier Institute of Management, Xavier University, Bhubaneswar Prof. (Dr.) D.V. Ramana, Assistant Professor, IIM, Ranchi Dr. Arindam Mukherjee, Professor and Head, Dept. of Commerce, Tezpur University, Assam Prof. (Dr.) Subhrangshu Sekhar Sarkar, Professor & Head, Department of Management, North-Eastern Hill University, Tura Campus Prof. (Dr.) Jaynal Uddin Ahmed and Dean School of Business, Kaziranga University Prof. Agnimitra Biswas. The Inaugural programme was followed by a plenary session by our esteemed guests and technical sessions. The programme came to an end with a colourful cultural programme put forward by the students of Kaziranga University.

The two-day programme had four Technical Sessions, in which more than 30 papers were presented by students, research scholars, academicians and faculty from different institutions. The seminar saw a lot of enlightening discussion and presentations on the opportunities and challenges focusing on the new paradigms in the field of commerce and management.

 

Attended by more than 250 students, delegates and guests, the Seminar was the second of such a pan-Indian event to be organized by the School of Business, Kaziranga University. The Valedictory session of the seminar saw the presentation of the Chairperson for each technical session, in which the papers presented by participants were summarized and highlighted. This was followed by prize and certificate distribution to the best paper presenters Rajdeep Dey, Mriganka Ranjan Bora, Manobika Paul of JB College and Taran Soni and T.C. Bhattacharya of Kaziranga University.

 

Kaziranga University’s commitment to promoting engaging academic research is vastly reflected in the organization of this National-level seminar by the School of Business. The theme of the seminar, focusing on the new paradigms of commerce and management, also emphasized on the University’s dedicated work towards the upliftment and development, contributing to research, discussion and discourses.
