IBM Conducts T3 Workshop for Kaziranga University Faculty on Cloud Computing and Business Analytics: June 8 – 14, 2017



Kaziranga University is collaborating with IBM to offer specialized courses in the areas of Business Analytics and Cloud Computing under B.Tech Computer Science, Electronics and Electrical Engineering program, to provide students with the needed skills while seeking employment in the industry.

As part of this IBM Innovation Centre for Education (ICE) program, IBM conducted a six day workshop for the KU faculty at the Jorhat campus. Twenty faculty members from the SET & SCS participated in the workshop. First session of the workshop on IT Infrastructure Landscape was conducted by Mr Viqaruddin Surki which covered the topics of Database & Storage Technology, Network & Security and Cloud Computing & Virtualisation. The second session on Applied Statistical Analysis, which forms the core of Business Analytics, was conducted by Dr Jaydip Sen. Extensive lab sessions on the R programming language was conducted at the Computer Sciences Laboratory. From the feedback received, it is quite evident that our faculty found this workshop “extremely useful”, “very beneficial” with a “great coverage” and “a lot of practical examples”.

IBM and KU will conduct similar workshops at the beginning of every semester to cover the more advanced topics.
