2nd Convocation of KAZIRANGA UNIVERSITY Celebrating Achievement, Celebrating Knowledge and Beyond

Kaziranga University, one of North East India’s premier Private University providing Educational Excellence, promoted by the North Eastern Knowledge Foundation (NEKF), is eld its 2nd Convocation on November 28, 2015. The event was graced by Shri Murli Dhar Khetan, Hon’ble Chancellor of the University; Shri A.S. Kiran Kumar, Padma Shri, Chairman ISRO; Ustad Amzad Ali Khan, Padma Vibhushan, renowned Sarod Maestro.

The welcome address was delivered by Shri Sunil Rai, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of the University. Shri Murli Dhar Khetan, Hon’ble Chancellor of the University will deliver the Inaugural Address and preside over the Convocation and confer the degrees. The Convocation address was delivered by Shri A.S. Kiran Kumar, Padma Shri, Chairman ISRO. Ustad Amzad Ali Khan, Padma Vibhushan, renowned Sarod Maestro also delivered the Inspirational Address.

This significant day marked the Graduation Ceremony of 120 KU students who received their graduating certificates and medals including – 26 students of MBA; 21 students of MSc.(Chemistry); 29 students of BBA; 10 students of MSc.(Physics); 4 students of MSc.(IT); 2 students of MTech(Thermal Engineering) and 28 students of BCom.

On this day Kaziranga University conferred two Honorary Doctorates. One, to Ustad Amzad Ali Khan , Padma Vibhushan, renowned Sarod Maestro for his phenomenal contributions towards the Indian culture and music. Born on 9th October, 1945 at a place called Gwalior located in Madhya Pradesh, Ustad Amjad Ali Khan is undisputed master of the music world. He is a man who needs no introduction and known as a distinguished maestro in the field of playing Sarod.

And the other Honorary Doctorate was conferred to Shri A.S. Kiran Kumar, Padma Shri , Chairman ISRO for his unmatched contributions in Indian Space Engineering Programmes. A Padma Shri awardee, Kiran Kumar joined ISRO in 1975. He is a distinguished space Scientist and credited with the development of key scientific instruments aboard the Chandrayan-1 and Mangalyaan space craft.
