KU Felicitates Students for Outstanding Achievement at the Electric Solar Vehicle Championship (ESVC 2019)

On the 9th of April 2019, a Felicitation Ceremony and Press Meet was held at Kaziranga University to laud the victory of Team Tejas, the student team of Kaziranga University who participated in the Electric Solar Vehicle Championship (ESVC) 2019 won the Team Spirit Award and ISIE Future Award of Rs. 1,00,000 on 31st March 2019.

Commended for their exceptional achievement by the Pro-Chancellor Shri Basant Khetan, Vice Chancellor Dr P.K Mishra and Director Ms. Rainy Khetan, Team Tejas - consisting of 25 Mechanical Engineering students, was felicitated with certificates and awards in the presence of members of the press, faculty, staff, students and several other distinguished guests and dignitaries.

In its sixth edition, the Electric Solar Vehicle Championship (ESVC 2019) was organized by the Imperial Society of Innovative Engineers (ISIE) and Chandigarh University, and is Asia’s first solar powered vehicle design and manufacturing event for Engineering students, faculty and professionals. The Kaziranga University contingent was the first ever and only team from the North East to have participated in such an event held in the country.

The five-day Electric Solar Vehicle Championship (ESVC 2019) concluded at Chandigarh University on 31st March 2019, and the championship saw more than 60 teams participate from over 20 states.

With participation in events such as these of national and international repute, the School of Engineering & Technology (SET) at the Assam Kaziranga University aims at changing the region through applied technical education and research, creating bright engineers and entrepreneurs, and developing professional skill. Kaziranga University aims to utilize such experiences to inspire teaching, research and institution building and propel work with professors, researchers, and leaders in education both here and across the nation.
