Kaziranga University celebrated its 6th Convocation on 21st January at the University campus in Koraikhowa, Jorhat. The convocation ceremony was inaugurated by Dr. M. D. Khetan, Chancellor of the University. Mr Deepak Kothari, Chairman and Managing Director of Kothari Group of Companies graced the occasion as Chief Guest who delivered a very inspiring speech emphasising the importance patience, a good attitude and a strong will power to succeed in life. In his speech, the Vice Chancellor of the University, Dr PK Mishra congratulated all students of graduating batches and highlighted the various achievement done by the university. The University conferred Honorary Doctorate upon Dr Gautam Barua, Director of IIIT Guwahati for his remarkable contribution in the field of Engineering and Technology. Dr. G. Narahari Sastry, Director of CSIR-NEIST also graced the occasion as Guest of Honour who, in his speech, appreciated the promoters for establishing such a well-equipped university in Jorhat. Other distinguished personalities present in the ceremony were – Shri Basant Khetan, Pro Chancellor, Kaziranga University, Ms Rainy Khetan, Director Kaziranga University, Dr Prashant Goswami, Ex- Director NISTADS, New Delhi, and Prof. Shantikam Hazarika, Founder Director, AIM Guwahati. The entire event was a great success.
