Details of the Programme: School of Business, The Assam Kaziranga University, in association with UDAAN- Towards Independence, organized a financial awareness programme for women, a small step towards women empowerment under the aegis of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav. It was a CSR initiative of Sapient Wealth Advisors. The event was conducted at the School of Business Seminar Hall, where Registrar-in-charge, Deans of all schools, Dean Centre of Excellence, women faculty members and students were present. The programme started with the lighting of the lamp by Registrar-in-charge and all deans followed by felicitation of the dignitaries as well as the organisers. The introductory speech was given by Dr. Manvinder Singh Pahwa, Professor & Dean, School of Business, where he emphasized the importance of women being financially independent in order to bring empowerment and lead a happy and healthy life. The event then continued with a presentation by the chief speaker, Ms. Purvi Beria, who is also an alumnus of School of Business, The Assam Kaziranga University. A small activity was conducted for the participants before formally starting the session. The presentation was all about bringing financial awareness among all participants. The speaker briefed about the various advantages and how a woman can gain financial freedom when she has control and proper idea about the process of utilizing the funds with her. The session also emphasized the importance of savings and investment by a woman, as well as the benefits of being financially independent, no matter what the sum is. Along with financial awareness in terms of various investment opportunities, especially for home-makers, the speaker also stressed upon accomplishing the household and personal tasks on their own so as to gain independence both in their personal as well as professional life.

The session was concluded by a Vote of Thanks by Preksha Gattani, who is also an alumnus of School of Business, and a group photo and tea and refreshments.

The entire session was co-ordinated by Ms. Snikta Bhattacharjee and convened by Ms. Baishali Pathak.
