The department of Electrical Engineering organized a visit to Lakwa Thermal Power Station (LTPS), APGCL, Sibsagar on 17th October 2019. The students and faculty were shown the phase II generation plant and the control room, which consists of Gas, based turbines. After that, they were taken to the phase one powerhouse which is a Waste gas management plant is actually a thermal station. Here the gas after use in phase II used to boil water in huge boilers from that the boiling water steam generated is collected and is used to rotate turbines to produce electricity. The visit gave a great understanding to students and faculty and was good exposure.
