The Department of Civil Engineering at the School of Engineering & Technology (SET), in association with Skyfi Labs - conducted a two-day 'Tall Building Design' workshop on 25th and 26th April 2019.

 

The workshop comprised of presentations, discussions and hands-on practice of two software for the participants. The workshop was designed to take the participants through the technical concept with hands-on practice in structural engineering. During the workshop, industry-grade software was used to design and analyze a building and also emphasis was given to understand the effect of wind load on high rise building. Some case studies on lateral load resisting structure and finally how to implement the knowledge gained from the workshop in Btech/M. tech project was discussed among the participants. The workshop witnessed the presence of 24 student participants from the department of civil engineering. The workshop was finally wrapped up with positive feedback from the participants.
