V Semester Computer Science & Engineering (CSE) Department students Manoj Mahanta, Twinkle Kaur, Gyanangkush Borgohain and Jyotishman Gogoi under the supervision of Dr. Sajal Saha, developed and subsequently filed a patent for “An Intelligent Dustbin”. The product is filed and published in the Patent Office Journal No.29/2018. The project consisted of a intelligent dustbin controlled either through a mobile app or using voice commands through an AI based voice response system like Amazon echo, Google Home, Apple Home Pod. It also consists of a sensor which helps it to smartly dodge obstacles in its path during solid waste transport. The main objective of this product is to automate the solid waste management system.
